The notes are all wrong and there is no explanation
“Notes! – Learn To Read Music” is a wonderful way for children to learn to read notes on the treble and bass clefs because: -it’s fun; -it’s easy to use; (Press a labeled key to name a note. Press the double arrows to change from treble to bass clef.) -it’s both visual and auditory; -its error message is subtle; -it celebrates (and thereby reinforces) correct answers. A bonus feature of “Notes!” is that it also helps children begin to learn the names of the white keys on the piano.
You cant beat this simple app for its straightforward approach. It does what it sets out to do, namely drill the visual recognition of notes on the treble and bass staffs. There is a wealth of options for future features but for 99c, you cant beat the value.
Concise, fast and simple app...see a note on staff and select the corresponding note on keyboard below. Bass and treble clef. Would like to see a "learning tool" wherein u actually learn acronyms etc to help u memorize the notes in each clef.
Really simple and boring, waste of money doesnt teach anything. Perhaps I didnt read carefully what the app offered.
Well, its not super exciting, but its straight to the point. Ive put in two 20 minute sessions so far, and Im definitely getting faster and committing the notes and keyboard positions memorized. For the iPad version it should be a horizontal orientation and give you two octaves, to make for a deeper memory connection with whe the corresponding keyboard keys. Otherwise, it comes as advertised, and is the best tool Ive found so far for memorizing notes.
Would learn faster if three notes would be tested till mastered, then add three more to the first three. Continue this way till all notes are being tested. Trying to memorize all at once is overwhelming. Presentation is nice, clear, and easy.
Simple concept. Works exactly as it is designed.
Does the job. Way better then reading a magazine when your "reading a magazine"
I really like this app. I am learning to sight read music for choir it is helping a lot and fast!
It is a great learning tool
Its hard to believe the other reviews. I cant imagine how this helps anyone to recognize notes on sight. The lines, from the bottom up, are EGBDF, and the spaces are FACE, and its more useful to memorize the positions of notes than to try to find the right answer by tapping every key until you hit it right. (And that much you can easily draw, yourself, and maximize time on the notes youre least sure of, too.)
Good app to help you learn the notes quickly
Have forgotten the notes since high school and this has helped me relearn them quickly and easily
I think this is great and is really helping my kiddo with her piano. I would suggest adding staged learning starting around middle c and then expanding to all of grand staff. The built in learning stages are great though.
Thank you!
This app works but think it may cause frustration in those just starting out. For those who are already accomplished keyboarders this app would be of no benefit. It falls into a category of software to make kids busy at least until they get mad and throw the iPod or iPad out the car window and generally ruin their childhood. O/K maybe not quite that bad. Its not a complete keyboard and so is pretty restricted in what can be done with it. Save your money for a portable battery powered keyboard. A big step up.
This is the best application I have seen for learning music. Fantastic, definitely 5 star
Does what it says.
This app really helps you to practice your sight reading skills. You obviously need to know the basics as this app is not designed to teach you how to read from the ground up, it is a drilling tool.
